Impact It was one of the best efforts of the season for Reed, as the sixth-man posted his best scoring total of the 2025 calendar year while recording double-digit rebounds for the second time in that same span. He'll continue to eat into the minutes of starter Samson Johnson, as Reed offers a far more versatile offensive attack. Over his last three games, the junior is averaging 16.0 points and 8.3 rebounds.

Impact Reed was a huge proponent of the Huskies keeping the game close against the Johnnies, and he outscored all but one of the team's starters. Reed had a monster game in the close win, producing 20 points for the second time this year and dropping his fifth double-double of the campaign. He established why he should be a main proponent of the Huskies' rotation even if not starting. Reed should still be very involved moving forward even if Johnson returns this Saturday at Butler.

Johnson is the better interior defender, which seems to give him the edge at this point as the team's starting center, but the coach Dan Hurley clearly trusts offense to run through Reed and he should still see quality minutes this season. UConn opens the season on Nov. 6 against Sacred Heart.
